Isaac Swett - Author of Isaac's Pilgrimate

I'm a Greek Orthodox Christian, metalhead, musician, fencer and writer hailing from Greenville, South Carolina. I have a diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism. I'm currently studying at Greenville Technical College to become a psychologist.

This blog is for me to discuss and write about my spiritual pilgrimage.

  1. Hello from India. Very interesting blog. Can you speak Russian? I am more interested in the Serbian Orthodox Church - are there any specific differences between the two? I was saddened hear of your conflict with Canada. Just love everyone. Thanks for your reviews of the two Bibles. Is there a book with the Bible, gnostic texts, Apocrypha and Philokalia? Guess that would be a bit heavy. By the way, I am not (yet) Christian, but quite interested in your religion. It seems to me that you are in the tradition of the 'holy fools' although I do not know if you will agree. Merry Christmas!!

    1. Hi Kayus! I am an Indian convert to Orthodoxy - I was Hindu. Serbian Orthodox is in communion with the Greek Orthodox church - they are the same church really, just in different countries. You may see some differences (language, ethnic customs), but theologically they are the same - I myself have attended many different Eastern Orthodox churches, and I always know what's going on in the services because they are the same - just different languages. And my patron saint is Serbian :-) Best wishes exploring Orthodoxy! Please check out this Orthodox orphanage in India - very nice work they are doing :-)

  2. Hello - I'm a convert, too - and I'm almost positive I have Asperger's. Not formally diagnosed. I just found your youtube channel and am looking forward to watching videos! I have obsessed about God since I was a child. My sense of isolation and alienation as a child actually really drove a growing sense of intimacy with God for me, and I have been God/religion obsessed since :-)

  4. I feel for you. Orthodoxy is a beautiful and historic form of Christianity but works righteousness will only wear you out. See Ephesians 2:8-9. Do you know Father Sam Sebring at the Antiochian church? I think he lives in Greenville and may be of some help. Take care!
